BCI riders visit LAW's Fargo Street
March 16, 2003

Saturday it rained like crazy, so only 3 BCI members showed up on a glorious Sunday
morning for the ride frrom Arcadia to Downtown LA to watch the 30th annual Fargo Street Hill Climb.
The ride-to-the-ride was hosted by the Foothill Cycling Club; an annual 35 mile ride from Arcadia
to see the famous Fargo Street Hill Climb hosted by the Los Angeles Wheelmen.

Steve Bill &Wayne enjoyed the ride, the spectacle, and while Steve & Bill were interviewed by Huell, Wayne earned his patch by making it up the hill! After we had lunch at historic Philippe's sandwich shop in China Town before riding back into Arcadia through Pasadena.

Heull Howser was on hand; documenting this 30 year tradition,
and we can see BCI jerseys on his show on KCET:

Beyond the clouds over Orange County; The Pasadena area was glorious:

Once we got started we enjoyed riding through Pasadena & Glendale
with several riders from the Foothill Cycling Club;
to the famous Fargo Street:

The steepest block in LA?

This block is hard to walk up; much less take a turn with everyone watching!

and on TV no less!

Wayne gets started for his attempt...
